Thinking of buying a used Kia Venga?

The style of the car

A cleverly-designed small people carrier that’s all about practicality and versatility. It’s a five-door hatchback with a high roof and colourful interior schemes on some models, making it a popular choice.

How it drives

The Kia Venga is a comfortable, spacious and versatile MPV. Efficient petrol and diesel engines, make it easy to drive whether you use it for the school run or taking the family on a weekend camping trip. There’s a clear view of the road which makes it easy to park and it’s even capable of towing smaller loads.

The interior

The small size of the Kia Venga makes it perfect for the school run as well as town and city driving. The boot is, however, big enough to accommodate a number of large suitcases and there’s more space under the floor. The rear seats also slide to increase legroom or luggage space and they fold flat for an occasional bulky item. There’s ample space for five with plenty of headroom in the rear even for taller adults. Basic models have a good level of equipment, but move up the model range and you’ll find things like a colour-coded interior, touchscreen infotainment and Bluetooth connectivity.

Running costs and reliability

Buying a used Kia Venga will deliver great value with prices at similar levels to rivals like the Ford C-MAX. It’s economical engines, good parts prices, low insurance and road tax mean that running costs are decent and in line with its competitors. Reliability is also a strong point for the Venga and Kia performed well in the annual JD Power survey. Crucially for a family MPV, safety is also good with a five-star rating from Euro NCAP.

How it compares with similar cars

The Venga is an MPV (people carrier) which is smaller than the crossover SUV Kia Stonic. Its Kia tiger-nose grille and slightly sporty demeanour set it apart from its main rivals, the Ford C-Max and Nissan Note. The Venga has won awards from the experts at Auto Express magazine.
